The races of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are divided into 12 cuts. Each cup contains 4 tracks that you will have to follow to earn points. At the end of these four races, the player with the best overall ranking wins.
Classic Cups
The Classic Cups are all new cuts to Mario Kart 8. They generally highlight new game mechanics and offer to expand the Mario Kart universe. Their difficulty is increasing, which means that they are ideal for all types of players.
Retro Haircuts
The Retro Cuts are cups resuming old Mario Kart races. However, the tracks have been redesigned to take advantage of the new gameplay features offered by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, such as flight, anti-gravity, or dual objects.
DLC Cups
The DLC Cups are cups that went on sale after the initial release of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, these cups are available directly for free. They sometimes take up old races loved by fans or imagine circuits in other Nintendo universes.
