Drunk

The Pandawas are martial arts warriors who know how to do crazy things with their bodies! They can even do it with other people's bodies...

Today we offer you a guide on the Pandawas, one of the classes pilier de Dofus. Pandawas are a very class complete which requires that we are interested in it, and that we spend time with it.

History: The pandawa class is the twelfth class to appear on Dofus. It was originally a class for subscriber accounts only, but a week before World of Warcraft's Mists of Pandaria update, Ankama decided to allow everyone to take advantage of this class.

Dofus Guide: All about the Pandawa class

General: The Pandawa class is LA essential class for all compositions Pvm. Indeed, the Pandawas are the undisputed masters of placement, both ally and enemy. They are also very useful for removing resistors. The Pandawas play with a particular game mechanic: The drunken state. While intoxicated, you can cast spells not available while sober, but while drunk, sober spells cannot be cast. Three spells allow you to enter or exit the Drunk state:

Picole: Basic Pandawa spell, costs 1Pa and makes you drunk. Removes 1 MP (does not remove it on a critical hit) but reduces the damage received by the Pandawa in return. Spell used for its low cost in AP, as well as for the resistances it confers.

Wrath of Zatoïshwan: Spell allowing you to get drunk, while increasing the power, damage and AP of the Pandawa. Spell intended for offensive use.

Bamboo Milk: If you get drunk, the best thing is also to be able to get out when you want. Bamboo Milk therefore allows you to get out of the drunken state, by removing all the bewitchments you have (Allied Buffs and enemy maluses included).
This is one of the great strengths of the Pandawa, being able to debuff itself, for two AP. To debuff yourself if you are in a sober state: Picole + Bamboo Milk. Spell is therefore very important, be careful however not to get debuffed when you have just received all the bonuses, armor and other PA gifts from the team.

The placement

Dofus Guide: All about the Pandawa class

Drunkenness: Unavoidable class spell of the Pandawa. Summons a barrel that attracts enemies, but also the Pandawa(a) in a state of drunkenness (Under booze or Zatoïshwan's anger). In addition, the barrel heals at the end of the turn when it is carried, in the cross zone of one square around the Pandawa.
The spell costs 4 AP at level 6 with a relaunch time of 5 turns.
You can get this spell by defeating a doppeul.

Dofus Guide: All about the Pandawa class

Karcham: One of the main Pandawa spells along with Chamrak. Allows you to carry a target (ally or enemy) by increasing its range (Allied target only) as long as it is carried. You can keep a target above you for as long as you want, as long as it doesn't come down on its own, you don't throw it or the Panda' doesn't move ( Pushing or pulling the panda' causes the carried character to fall). The carried ally (or monster) cannot be targeted while it is "up".
The spell costs 1 AP and can be cast 3 times per turn at spell level 6. Only one target can be carried at a time.
Namely: When you carry someone, you cannot be transposed.

Chamrak: Unlike Karcham, Chamrak allows you to throw a carried target.
The spell costs 1 AP and can be cast 3 times per turn at level 6 of the spell.

Horror: This spell allows you to push a target back one box and remove a percentage of crit. Spell with modifiable range, inexpensive (2AP only), very useful for keeping annoying monsters away

But the Pandawas are not only supports, they also have an important offensive potential, which brings us to our second part: Offensive spells.

First of all, you should know that for area spells, the closer the target is to the center of the area, the greater the damage will be. Also, the closer you are to the target (few squares between the target and the caster), the higher the damage will be.

The Pandawa Class was one of the first to benefit from spells in all the elements (Ankama tends today to put all the elementary paths on all the characters, as shown by the revamp of the feca, which was offered an Air path). This offers a great diversity in terms of choice of stuffs. Each elementary route has its particularities. There are two spells per element (except the fire path which has 3, the third being Vertigo, with a special mechanic, described below). A spell castable in the Sober state, and a spell castable in the Drunk state. All spells that can be cast in the Drunk state cost 3 AP.

LAND CHANNEL: "Nag" at short/medium range

Pandatak: Powerful line attack with non-modifiable range. Castable spell in Sober state.

Hangover: Handy spell, powerful on CC, low base range but modifiable (up to 9). Spell cast while Drunk.

FIRE PATH: Tactical path, inexpensive in AP.

Explosive Flask: Launched in line in area 2, for 2AP, does very heavy damage for a 2AP spell, but one throw per turn. Castable spell in Sober state.

Flaming Point: Fire version of Hangover. Spell cast while Drunk.

Vertigo: The special mechanical spell. Indeed, to be able to cast Vertigo on an enemy, you must first carry it. This spell causes damage according to the number of MPs (Movement Points) used by the enemy monster. It is therefore an indirect spell, which requires carrying the target to be able to be launched. Castable spell in Sober state.
Namely: Power increases vertigo damage, but not weaknesses or fire damage, which differentiates it from other spells in the game.

WATER PATH: The path of ranged play, spell with modifiable range, and good base range

Blade Wave: Powerful spell in line, stick area. A very useful spell for hitting enemies hidden behind walls. Castable spell in Sober state.

Ethylo: Alter-ego of Hangover and Flaming Fist with minimum PO (Castable at 2 squares or more) and greater basic range than the two spells mentioned above, a limitation to 2/target, also adds an AP withdrawal penalty to the target (penalty useless in PvM and very little useful in PvP since the Xelor revamp). Spell cast while Drunk.

AIRWAY: The way that makes you run, because of the antagonistic constraints between its two spells *

Dofus Guide: All about the Pandawa class

Schnapps: Powerful diagonal spell, hammer zone, with a minimum range of two squares diagonally. Powerful spell, but difficult to place on small maps, but also on large maps, often full of obstacles. Castable spell in Sober state.

Alcoholic Breath: Spell damage and push the target one space in line. Spell cast while Drunk.

*We note here that the AIR route is the most restrictive, which is compensated (not enough for my taste unfortunately) by the gain in tackle/leakage which is very useful for its (dis)placements.

Finally, we will talk about "tanking" spells and boost of Pandawa. Because yes, the Pandawa has a potential of tanking. Because of his role within the team (Placement/support) the pandawa often plays with a lot of vitality. Its tanking is based on its vitality, but also on its summoning spell: The Pandawasta.

Dofus Guide: All about the Pandawa class

Spirit Link: Summons a Pandawasta that will block enemy monsters, while removing their power and putting them in a weakened state (Impossible to use its melee). It also applies a tackle penalty to the target. Spell without line of sight, very useful to block a troublesome monster in order to take care of another, or not to be overwhelmed by monsters too quickly. Spell cast while Drunk.

Small thing to know: If the Pandawasta is given 2PA (by an eniripsa for example) he gains a bonus of MP, agility as well as quite substantial vitality (300 agility and vitality). Think about it!

Pandanlku: Spell that gives a MP bonus to its caster or to a targeted ally. Useful for rushing into the heap, or, on the contrary, fleeing. Spell cast while Drunk.

Defilement: Spell with a range of two non-modifiable squares, allows you to remove a buff turn, as well as to remove power. Spell cast while Drunk.

Dofus Guide: All about the Pandawa class

Stabilization: This spell puts you in a rooted and untouchable state for one turn, in addition to adding a MP dodge bonus, for one turn. The rooted state allows you to not be able to be moved (attract, transpose/coop, push etc.) and is not debuffable. The untackle state allows you to no longer be tackled (no kidding) and is also undebuffable. This spell therefore allows you to get out of dangerous situations, or not to have to carry/throw one or more sticky enemies. The spell can also be applied to enemies, very useful against bosses, to allow your team to hit the cac and flee without being tackled.
Spell at 1Pa, 6Gb at level 6 of the spell, without line of sight. Castable 1 turn out of 2 at level 6.

Dofus Guide: All about the Pandawa class

Vulnerability: THE Pandawa spell, which makes it essential and unavoidable in PvM. In the past, the spell lowered the elemental resistances of monsters in all elements, by 15%, 2 cast per turn, 2 times cumulative (That's 30% weakness, for non-mathematicians). Today the spell has changed somewhat, and now increases the damage suffered by the target. The new version of the spell is slightly weaker than the old one, because the more elemental resistances a monster has, the less the impact of the percentage of bonus damage taken will be felt. Spell cast while Drunk.

Now that we have shown how spells work, which elemental path to choose, and how to play your Pandawa?

The Elemental Path: One of the great things about pandas is that there is no best or preferred path. You can choose the route(s) that suit you best. However, the most common paths are Water and Fire. Water for the range of his attacks, and fire, for the explosive flask, which allows you to hit hard, for 2AP. In single account, the land route can be a good option. However, I do not recommend the air path alone, which is difficult to master due to the difficult placements of its spells. Coupled with another striking element, the air mode can be interesting in bi element, but not in mono.

The Pandawa needs a substantial investment to be truly effective. Indeed, he has so many useful spells to ride, that you can't ride a good panda' without investing some spell scrolls in it, in addition to the characteristics scrolls.

The bi (or tri, or even multi) Pandawas are absolutely viable, but require a greater investment, because you have to mount more spells.

In a team, the Pandawa plays in first position (He must have the highest initiative) which will allow him to place the allies in the zone in order to take full advantage of the zone boosts. Going first gives him the opportunity to place an entry pandawasta in order to block a monster, or summon a barrel to pull in an enemy for focus quickly.
Instead, the pandawa stays in the front line, so as not to be hindered in casting its vulnerabilities and other spells.

In PvP, all paths are playable, but the fire path is dominant, due to the low cost of its spells, and the use of vertigo, useful in PvP, much less in PvM.

There is no particularly strong Set on a Pandawa, it all depends on the element(s) you choose. One item is however highly appreciated at high level, it is the class boots, because they allow to deactivate the line of sight of the Vulnerability spell. So you can throw your weaknesses through the walls.

Let's now move on to synergies with other Dofus classes:

The class that pairs best with a Pandawa is undoubtedly the class rogue.
Indeed, the rogue plays with bombs, which he places in line to create a wall. When an enemy crosses the area between the two bombs, he will suffer significant damage. The Panda being able to carry and throw an enemy directly into it, it goes without saying that the synergy between its two classes is great, from an offensive point of view.
Another combo is to put a barrel behind a bomb wall, the barrel will pull monsters into the wall, inflicting consistent damage to the monster, without straining.

the class Shame also has good synergy with Pandas'. A little on the same principle as the rogues, the Srams set traps that are triggered when an enemy (or an ally) passes through them.
What could be simpler than throwing an enemy into a freshly laid trap? In addition, the Sram has a Double which has the characteristic of having the same statistics as its launcher. Failing to attack, it allows monsters to be blocked for a long time. The Double of the Sram and the Pandawasta of the Panda' are very practical summons to block and hold back monsters.

the class Iop. The Panda' have a spell combo that allows a Iop to be sure to place his Iop's Wrath. Stabilization on the Panda' then Karcham on the Iop. The Iop becomes impossible to target, and therefore it cannot be interrupted (by a corruption, a PM removal or a gravity state for example), which allows it to quietly place its Anger.
