Known mainly for dealing with cinema news, Empire magazine always creates a small tidal wave when it releases a Top 100. Today, exit the seventh art and make way for video games. Indeed, Empire had fun listing the 100 best games of all time according to readers. If some choices seem coherent, others are much more debatable...
Starting at the bottom of the table with in 85th position Super Smash Bros Brawl. Really ? When we know that the episodes released on Nintendo 64 and Gamecube are considered the best by players, we wonder what could have crossed the minds of readers to put only Brawl in the ranking. Just like Okami who would have deserved a better place although the commercial success was not there. We must still salute Empire and its audience for this selection which contains only very good games (including Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which, without all its sequels, would certainly be considered by players as an excellent game) . The only downside is that it's a shame to have placed games as recent as GTA V or The Last of Us so highly. and it's worth waiting to see if this one ages properly.
