The open beta of the fighting game MultiVersus starts from Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Players who previously participated in the closed alpha can enjoy early access for a few days already. Those who opted for one of the Founder's Packs can also play now as well as those who obtained a code by watching a stream with drop enabled. When you start playing MultiVersus, the first thing you will be interested in is unlocking all the roster of fighters that is available. In this guide, we explain all the methods available to you to obtain all the characters.
How to unlock characters in MultiVersus?
At launch, the MultiVersus game has a total of 16 playable characters knowing that 11 of them are locked and therefore to be unlocked. The remaining four characters are unlocked from the start, they are Sammy, Jake the dog, Taz and Harley Quinn. According to a recent leak, 19 other characters should join the base Roster over the next few months.
Information more or less confirmed thanks to the premium MultiVersus founder's pack which allows players who buy it to leave with a total of 30 character tickets. These tickets allow you to instantly unlock a character. Given that there are 16 basic characters and that you have to spend 11 tickets to unlock the entire basic Roster, after 19 tickets are left for the player.

Here are the conditions to unlock the 16 characters of the game:
- Sammy is a character unlocked by default.
- Wonder Woman unlocks once you complete the tutorial.
- Batman is unlocked in exchange for 2000 Gold Pieces, 700 Gleamium or 1 Character Ticket.
- Superman is unlocked in exchange for 2000 gold coins, 700 gleamium or 1 character ticket.
- Taz is unlocked by default.
- Iron Giant is unlocked with 3000 Gold, 700 Gleamium or 1 Character Ticket.
- Garnet is unlocked with 1500 Gold, 700 Gleamium or 1 Character Ticket.
- Steven Universe is obtained in exchange for 3000 gold coins, 700 gleamium or 1 character ticket.
- Jake the dog is unlocked by default when you start playing Multiversus.
- Dog-Reindeer is unlocked with 2000 Gold Pieces, 700 Gleamium or 1 Character Ticket.
- Finn becomes available when you spend 2000 Gold, 700 Gleamium or 1 Character Ticket.
- Velma is obtained with 2000 gold coins, 700 gleamium or 1 character ticket.
- Arya Stark is yours in exchange for 3000 Gold, 700 Gleamium or 1 Character Ticket.
- Bugs Bunny is unlocked with 2000 gold coins, 700 gleamium or 1 character ticket.
- Harley Quinn is unlocked by default, you can play with it from the start.
- Tom and Jerry unlock with 3000 Gold, 700 Gleamium or 1 Character Ticket.
As you can see, there are three methods available to you to unlock each of the fighters in MultiVersus, by spending gold, with character tickets which are obtained by opting for one of the founders' packs or via the premium currency, Gleamium. This special currency can only be purchased with real money. For gold coins, you will mainly earn them by playing online matches, by reaching certain levels of the battle pass, by leveling up the characters you already have or by gaining levels for your player profile.
