In Rogue Legacy 2, you can unlock various challenges by solving puzzles called "Erebus' scars". Each time you defeat a boss and progress through the adventure, a new clue becomes available. It's up to you to find a small red sphere to unlock the corresponding scar challenge. To make it easier for you, we bring you this guide that will show you how to find all 16 scars in Rogue Legacy 2.
Completing these "scars" challenges is a good way to get Soul Stones, an important resource in Rogue Legacy 2 that unlocks permanent bonuses in the Soul Store.

After defeating the first boss in the game, the Lamech Estuary, you will see a house appear at your mansion. Inside is the old Géras. He will introduce you to the scar system with a first, “Healing Erebus” which will teach you more about how the scars of Erebus work and will give you access to your first challenge called “A fairly simple start”.
For the rest, you have a riddle and you must discover the location of a red sphere to unlock the corresponding scar challenge. Here are the different puzzles and their solutions.
↓ Riddle of the “heavy weapons” scar:
At Erebus, a fireplace sits comfortably against a wall. A hooded green figure approaches the wall and begins to gesticulate wildly as if to throw a ball of fire.
★ Solution :
Enter the "Heal Erebus" scar and progress until you find a lit fireplace. Use your magic on the wall to the right of this fireplace to reveal a secret passage and move forward until you reach the scar.
↓ Enigma of the "two masters" scar:
You see a dark figure in the attic. It is hidden in the ivy, perched above the golden doors...
★ Solution :
When you arrive in the Agartha Citadel after giving all your gold to Charon, jump on the lantern, then use the Ranger (Archer) class talent to create a platform so you can pick up the scar. Another way is to get the trait that makes you giant so you can interact with the scar above the lantern.
↓ Enigma of the "Etricate Praxis" scar:
A woman quietly enters the back of a pizzeria with a stack of large wicker plates. She puts it down and bends down to pick up some more, freshly painted red and white. The pizzeria is in ruins and its entrance is condemned. The place looks abandoned, but at the base of the wall, a crack barely big enough to crawl through reveals the real nature of this place.
★ Solution :
To get this scar, you must go to the second region of the game, the Axis Mundi. You will find not far from the entrance of the solar tower an old pizzeria. Pass the door and destroy the elements of the decoration which are inside. Behind a pile of wood, you will see a crack appear. Press the action key to sneak into it and unlock the scar.
↓ Riddle of the “sharp rose” scar:
Hidden by the night, a small group of peasants look around furtively before pushing heavy stones, revealing a secret passage under a huge statue. As the resonating waves crash behind them, they begin to sink into the crevasse...
★ Solution :
To unlock this scar, you must go to the Kergueen plateau which is always in the rightmost part of the Axis Mundi. Explore the area until you locate the statue that offers the power of double jump. Behind her on the right you can destroy the rock face with your magic. Which will reveal a secret passage where you can retrieve the scar. You will need to have beaten the Naamah Estuary to collect this scar.
↓ Enigma of the “enclosed space” scar:
A tall, slender scholar enters a huge circular room filled with dusty tomes. He pushes a barrel to the west end and opens a hidden door.
★ Solution :
For this one, head for the Stygian tower which must be above the citadel of Agartha. You'll at some point come across a huge, enemyless room with three doors and two void barriers to dispel with your leap. Enter the middle room to reach the library of the Stygian tower and then interact with the barrel on the far left of the room to discover a secret passage that will allow you to unlock this scar.
↓ Enigma of the "automatons" scar:
The imposing figure of the Tubal Estuary carrying a hollowed out corpse crosses a false wall next to the banner in his workshop. Installed in the floor of this secret chamber is a huge grid. Not without difficulty, Tubal raises the grid and throws the corpse into the dark depths.
★ Solution :
To find this scar, you need to go to the dry Pishon Lake, the most dangerous area in Rogue Legacy 2. Look for the Arcane Chamber (marked with a purple question mark on the map). You will come across a huge room filled with barrels. Even if it's tempting, don't destroy anything in this room!
There is a hidden passage over a barrel (see the exact location in the picture below). In the secret room, climb up and destroy the right wall with your magic to find another room where you can unlock the scar of the dried up Pishon Lake.
↓ Scar riddle “spread the poison”:
A slender figure crawls on the roof of the Gonghead sisters' lair. A crack allows him to sneak into the attic, then to access their study. The figure slowly rubs a small piece of parchment against a pillow, then pulls a crystal vial from its robe. After inserting the parchment into the vial and carefully shaking it, the figure notices that the liquid it contains turns black, and shakes its head in disappointment.
★ Solution :
You will unlock this scar at Stygian Study after defeating Lamech in his true form (in lineage +1 minimum). Look for the mini boss room that leads you outside. At this place there are always three female soldiers with a spear and a skeleton magician who throws fireballs. Where the magician is, double jump and destroy the high wall to reveal a secret passage. You will then unlock the “Spread the Poison” scar challenge.

- Defeat the end boss in his true form to reveal the location of this scar.
