Test One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2

Thought like a diptych, One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2: A Hero Awakens picks up where its predecessor left off, One Piece Unlimited Cruise 1: The Treasure Under the Waves. Friend Gabri, a character created especially for both games, having sacrificed himself to preserve the integrity of Luffy's crew, the latter decides at the start of this new adventure to return the favor to him, promising to bring him back to the life. Thus begins this new epic that we are promised epic and imagined by Eiichirô Oda (the author of the manga). Something that is also difficult to conceive as the lack of narrative follow-up bursts the screen. For this simple reason, The Awakening of a Hero is struggling to excite, which will once again confine it to a fringe of hardcore fans who are not necessarily demanding. It must be said that the players disappointed by The Treasure under the Waves, ready to give the series a second chance, will become disillusioned very quickly as the faults they have been able to castigate reappear here at lightning speed. In addition to its screenplay desert, One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2 takes on its own a rather particular Action-Adventure formula which proves, in practice, quickly redundant. Essentially based on the collection of objects, it forces us to explore with a minimum of meticulousness uninspired decorations so as not to let escape the so important ore which would open access to the next play area. In addition to being repeated ad infinitum, the mechanic is completely irrelevant in the universe of One Piece. Despite the entry presence of nine heroes that can be changed on the fly, difficult to feel concerned, especially since the software has the good idea to reset all the counters to zero to impose good leveling sessions on us . Amnesia sufferers are reminded that we are supposed to take charge of a team of heroes who are already in the know, since they have just come out of a first adventure... Treasure under the Waves will certainly discover with great pleasure the outcome of the story. The fact that the developers were able to keep the spirit of the series intact (thanks to the Japanese voices) helps to immerse yourself in the game, the very good lifespan and the generous range of moves of each of the heroes to stay there. But you will certainly have understood it, all the defects mentioned above combined with a perfectible camera and a somewhat simplistic gameplay do not allow One Piece Unlimited Cruise 2: A Hero Awakens to show itself worthy of the universe from which it is inspired.
