With her current patter and above all her strong popularity with a certain age group of players, Nintendo's white lady seems the perfect medium to make the headlines. And then, with the help of the success of Wii Sports and its boxing demo, everything seems to fit so that the public responds again. Obviously, in order not to distort the original concept, the designers made the wise decision to transplant the ingredients of the previous episodes, starting by proposing a list of boxers as wacky as they were crazy. There are 18 in total and each of them is more or less a caricature of a showbiz personality. Kaizer Kong and his cold gaze immediately brings to mind Arnold Schwarzenegger, while Dewie Streudel does not hide his family ties with a certain David Hasselhoff. The humor in Ready 2 Rumble Revolution is therefore omnipresent, which will certainly not displease the fans of the first hour.

Like Nintendo's Wii Boxing, just use the two appendages as real boxing gloves. Immersion at all costs is Nintendo's leitmotif, which intends to make us sweat. This is indeed the case with Ready 2 Rumble Revolution and in high doses since the movements are far from being recognized in an optimal way. Direct, hook, uppercut, dodge and other small steps on the side, all boxing movements are represented in the game, but at no time will it be possible to reproduce them identically; or else with an absolute latency time. This is the main defect of Ready 2 Rumble Revolution, moreover prohibitive, since it is quite difficult to carry out attacks in the game, the fault of poor recognition of movements in space. When in doubt and as a good professional, we tend to go to the tutorial to check if the problem does not arise from our way of using the two controllers. But after a quick passage through the training box, but also in the mini-games, we quickly realize that the developers have simply missed the mark. Of course, by doing anything, we manage to execute a few blows, but do not expect to swing dazzling attacks that you will have premeditated beforehand, here it is the luck factor that comes into play. Seriously, Ready 2 Rumble Revolution cannot behave like a credible title in the face of such an abject handling. And it's all the more regrettable that the game offers a correct realization, even if we would have liked a little more madness in the sets and a crowd that looks more like a real audience than a poor bedroom tapestry laid down by Leroy Merlin. Whatever happens, it is not this year that the Ready 2 Rumble license will manage to make a new name for itself.
