With an extension dedicated to city life, the developers could not help but provide a new "world" to our Sims. It is therefore the brand new city of San Myshuno that we are offered to explore in this add-on. Very modern, it consists of four main districts and a park, called Meadows of Myshuno. You can get married there, have a picnic or admire the lake located just next door. But it is all the same the different districts strictly speaking which constitute the large part of this extension. The most emblematic of them is certainly the Quartier Chic which, as its name suggests, smells of money and luxury. Squarely suspended in the air, it houses penthouses with jacuzzi, a bar with swimming pool, and a superb gym with panoramic views. A bit less expensive but even more trendy, the Quartier de la Mode is dedicated to nightlife. There is also a karaoke bar, where you can practice the newest singing skill. The latter is practiced on karaoke machines, therefore, but also with a microphone, a piano or a guitar. It will take a lot of practice before you can sing in tune, but eventually you are sure to increase your power of seduction. More bohemian than bourgeois, the Quartier des Arts is home to an art gallery, a few relatively modest apartments and quite a few musicians, painters and other "living statues" in the streets. Finally, the most popular neighborhood is certainly the Spice Market, where apartments of all types rub shoulders with basketball courts and food stalls. Street food is indeed appearing in the game, and focuses in particular on spicy dishes. Your Sims may be sensitive to it at first, but will eventually get used to it with practice. The same goes for having to eat certain dishes with chopsticks. City Life features twenty-seven new recipes, including fugu nigiri which can downright cause death if improperly prepared! To close the culinary chapter, note that the Vegetarian character trait makes its appearance.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE IN TOWN...
Living in an apartment requires you to deal with your neighbours, to whom you can give a key if you particularly like them, or with whom you are sure to argue in the event of nighttime noise. Elevators, garbage chutes and mailboxes are available to make your life easier, but that won't exempt you from some other unpleasant surprises (leaks, cockroaches, electrical problems...), especially if you decide to move into an apartment. at oddly low rent. With a home of this type, your handyman skills will be regularly put to the test. If none of your characters ever have the Bricolage skill, then you will have to call on your owner to solve the various problems. But the best is naturally to live in one of the sumptuous lofts of the Quartier Chic. In any case, know that you will now be able to work from home if you embrace a career as a politician, critic (culinary, art, etc.) or relating to social media.
But city life isn't all about hard work, and every neighborhood (with the exception of the Chic Quarter because it's well known that rich people don't like to mingle with the plebs) offers plenty of opportunities to fun in society, especially through festivals. The Quartier des Arts thus provides access to the Frasques et humour festival, which allows you to perform sketches in the middle of the street, practice voodoo, launch fireworks, and take part in a jokers versus jokers challenge. More serene, the Spice Market is home to two good-natured events: the Spice Festival and the Flea Market. Eminently culinary, the first allows you to taste different more or less exotic dishes, to harvest fruits and vegetables, to buy spices and to take up the Spicy Curry Challenge. The second is naturally devoted to antiquing, the sale and exchange of collectibles, including snow globes and posters. The Quartier de la Mode is not to be outdone since it also gives access to two festivals. During the Festival of Love, you can drink sakura tea, spread flower petals around you, make your marriage proposal, or meet the Love Guru for advice. While at the Geek Convention, your Sims will do rocket rides and compete in different contests. Taken together, the different possibilities offered by the five festivals are quite numerous and varied. They thus compensate for the fact that the city of San Myshuno is still not very big, which is all the more regrettable since the selling price of the extension is still so high...
