The Pokemon Purple and Scarlet games are coming out in just a few weeks. As is the case with most major games released on Nintendo consoles, the content offered by the Violet and Scarlet versions will be significantly different from one version to another. Like a list of exclusive creatures, for example, that will be captured while traveling through the lands of the Paldea region, to encourage exchanges between players.
Or the two main legendaries that are highlighted on the cover of the game, Koraidon which is exclusive to the Scarlet version and Miraidon which is only found in the Violet episode. The game of differences will go even further with the ninth generation of Pokémon games. To help you see more clearly and allow you to make your final choice as the release approaches, we have listed the notable differences and exclusives between the Violet and Scarlet versions.

Pokémon Purple or Scarlet, which one to choose, what are the differences between the two?
If trainers can come across and capture the same pokemon on their way depending on the version played, there are a few exclusive creatures to hunt. Here is the list of exclusives between the two editions of the game.
The list of pokemon exclusive to the Scarlet version:

- Ymphect
- Tyranitar
- Dolman
- Carmadura
- koraidon
The list of Pokemon exclusive to the Violet version:
- Drabi
- Drackhaus
- Drag
- bekaice cube
- Coldly

The teacher. Pokémon will be different from version to version:
For the first time in the history of the series, players will be able to meet two professors. But they won't both appear in both games. Players who opt for the Scarlet version will cross paths with Professor Olim while on the Violet version, trainers will be greeted by Professor Turum.
A different academy and a starting outfit of a different color:
Depending on which version of the game you buy, you will be able to discover the Orange Academy or the Raisin Academy once you have reached the largest city in the Paldea region, namely Mesaledo. These two schools feature different coats of arms depicting an orange in Scarlet and a grape pattern in the Violet version. Your character's academic uniform will therefore be different to take on the features of the academy of your version of the game. The color of the clothes of the teachers you will meet in these academies will also be different to match the theme of the two schools.
Pokemon bikes/mounts will also be different:
Paldea is presented by the development teams as an open world to be explored as desired. If at the beginning it is done on foot, the player will very quickly have access to the legendary Koraidon & Miraidon which will make exploration less painful. It's not just a question of color, on land Koraidon can take the form of a racing motorcycle while Miraidon looks more like an off-road bike.
On the water, Koraidon takes a swimming form which allows him to move forward thanks to the membranes between his fingers while Miraidon uses an aquatic mode to move by turning the big wheel on his chest. Further into the adventure, players will be able to use their trusty mount to fly and explore the Paldea region from the air. Koraidon spreads wings in flight mode while Miraidon resembles a glider.
