We'll update the info in the article as development studio Game Freak and Nintendo communicate about Pokémon E&V releases. Here's what we know so far.
Info 1 – For the first time in the Pokémon series and depending on the version on which you are going to play, the professor who will guide you in your adventure will be different. Players will encounter Prof. Olim in the Scarlet version and it will be Prof. Turum in the Violet version.
Info 2 – The 9th generation will allow players to discover a “free” open world that it will be possible to explore at will without having to wait for the story to invite us to go to a specific place.
Info 3 – Koraidon and Miraidon are the two main legendaries of the 9th generation. The story will revolve around these two pokémons, Koraidon being exclusive to the Scarlet version and Miraidon to the Violet version. Their name is not the result of chance, knowing that Karai corresponds to the past and Mirai the future.
Info 4 – The three starter pokemon that players can choose from are Poussacha, Chochodile and Coiffeton. The first is a grass-type cat pokemon. The second is a fire-type Croco Pokémon and the last is a water-type Duckling Pokémon. Poussacha has the fertilizer talent, it is a pokemon of a capricious nature that seeks the attention of its trainer. Chochodile possesses the inferno talent, it is a laid back Pokémon with a penchant for food. Coiffeton has a torrential talent and has a serious temperament scrutinizing the slightest actions and gestures of his trainer.
Info 5 – If the region of Pokémon EV can be traveled solo, it will be possible to join a group and invite friends to explore the different areas of the world for up to 4 players online. In addition to the cooperation mode, it will be possible to trade Pokémon and compete against each other as was the case in previous games.
Info 6 – Pokémon Centers are scattered all over the world. No need to go back to town to restore your pokemon's health or to do some shopping. you just need to stop at a pokemon "station" to refuel.
Info 7 – Depending on the version you choose, your character's starting outfit will be different. Red and white with a touch of blue for the Scarlet version and purple and gray with a touch of yellow for the Violet version.
Info 8 – The two versions of the game could have two different timelines unless the two teachers are from a different timeline. Indeed, Professor Olim's outfit is very primitive while Professor Turum's outfit is clearly futuristic.
Info 9 – The main character's friend and rival is described as an expert pokemon trainer. In both versions it will apparently be the same person, but always with a color difference in the clothes. Known as Menzi, this trainer has the electric type mouse pokémon Pohm, Gourmelet, a normal type pig pokémon, and Olivine, a normal & grass type olive pokémon.
Info 10 – The two games will be released simultaneously on Friday, November 18, 2022. It will be possible to buy Scarlet or Violet independently of each other or to obtain the special pack containing both versions of the game including an exclusive steelbook .
