Becoming a ruthless hunter of demons, a barbarian with brutal methods or a sorcerer adept with arcane powers… The class selection screen will be the first test you will have to overcome when you start playing Diablo Immortal on your mobile or PC. With each launch of a new game that features several character classes to choose from, the reaction of players remains the same, “who am I going to be able to choose to start the adventure”. This guide is here to help you make your choice!
Six character classes to choose from in Diablo Immortal, but only one choice possible:
There are therefore a total of 6 classes that are available at the launch of Diablo Immortal, each with its strengths and weaknesses. To take your first steps in the sanctuary, you will have to choose a class for your character, and the right one, since it is no longer possible to change afterwards. To make the right choice, it is advisable to think about how your class and your build (gear / orientation) will benefit your group, especially if you plan to play with friends.
★ Note – When Diablo Immortal launches, it will not be possible to change class. However, the development teams have announced that this feature will be added "shortly after launch". Players will then be able to change class a limited number of times if the one chosen at the start of the adventure is not suitable.
Choose the Barbarian?
The Barbarian is clearly one of the easiest classes to play. If you are taking your first steps into the Diablo universe or this is your first hack-and-slash type game, this is a class of choice for "beginners". But not only, veteran players can also turn to him, he is a very versatile character who is able to withstand the continuous assaults of the creatures of the underworld while having the ability to inflict heavy damage. The barbarian is always on the front line ready to jump into the crowd without the slightest restraint. But beware, the barbarian is less effective in ranged combat and his action skills can take time to recharge.
Select Crusader?
Think of the Crusader as an alternative to the Barbarian, a fairly similar power with a high level of aggression that also offers a good dose of mobility. The crusader is very effective for crowd control, being able to rain down blows on an entire group of enemies. It is also always nice to see a crusader in a group since it also allows you to give temporary stat bonuses to all allies who can then stay in the second line with peace of mind. The crusader's biggest flaw is that its main skills can seem weak against a single target that is more powerful than average.
Playing with the Demon Hunter?
Here is a class that remains easy to play, but which is a little more difficult to master. Once you've gotten your bearings with him, he's clearly in the top of those who inflict the most damage in record time (you know the famous DPS of the group). He is a character who can take down his targets quickly while maintaining a certain distance from them and continuing to move. The Demon Hunter is very comfortable in boss fights. Unfortunately, this firepower reveals some weaknesses, it is a weak character who requires the player to always keep a reasonable distance from enemies.
Rather orient towards the Monk?
The monk is recommended especially if you intend to play with allies and still be with other groups of players. The character loses some of its interest for solo players, since it is mainly used for support. He can provide the team with shields, gather a group of enemies to allow the front lines to decimate monsters quickly. But beware, that does not mean that the monk only serves as a support for other classes, he is also capable of inflicting heavy damage while controlling the crowd and also benefits from great mobility.
Why not the Necromancer?
The necromancer is a class that is played at a distance and that relies a lot on his invocations. The cannon fodder he brings back from the realm of the dead through dark magic allows him to position himself and launch area attacks as enemies have gathered en masse around his minions. It's a good choice for the beginning of the adventure, but ends up showing its limitations when you reach Diablo Immortal's HL (high level) content, becoming too dependent on the minions it summons.
Or maybe the Sorcerer?
If your thing is magic and holding off your opponents in a deluge of fireballs and elemental spells, the Sorcerer class is clearly the one you should turn to. But we have to warn you, as it stands, the wizard or witch is still the hardest class for new players to play. It's a fairly technical class that requires you to correctly manage the different cooldowns of your magical powers. If you can get used to it, the Sorcerer is clearly the best ranged AoE damage character in the game.
What is the best class to take in Diablo Immortal:
If your goal is to play as the best class in Diablo Immortal, we highly recommend looking to Crusader. This character has the ability to add to himself or a group of players all kinds of stat bonuses in combat. He moves fast, has strong crowd control, with attacks that can cover a wide area and he adapts to any situation, solo or in a group.
The character's only downside is that he's less effective when it comes to single-targeting, which can make him less impressive in a boss fight. But don't forget that your own choice is still the most important, depending on your style of play and the idea you have of hack-and-slash, each of these classes offers a different approach.
