Assassins Creed Origins: How to get the Best Weapons, Crafting and Loot

Ubisoft, Assassins Creed Origins, Weapon, Melee, Ranged, Crafting, Loot

Assassin's Creed Origins has a new weapon and equipment system. You'll be glad you took the time to get to know him when the bounty hunters come to breathe down your neck!

This guide for Assassin's Creed Origins aims to explain to you the new inventory system in the most comprehensive way possible so that you know how to get the best weapons, know which ones to keep, what to do with your old equipment, what to improve and when to improve it, the pros and cons of each type of weapon and Moreover.

If you spend a lot of time looter and do all side quests, you will quickly realize that you will accumulate a lot of equipment. It can be difficult to know which weapon you should use at which time, and which ones you can get rid of.

Take the time to read this article carefully before jumping into Assassin's Creed Origins – it's more of an RPG than you might imagine, and with solid equipment it will go much better!

Rarity of loot

In Assassin's Creed Origins, you get new weapons and shields all the time - whether from enemies, chests, as quest rewards, or from in-game stores. according to their color to better recognize them. The rarer a weapon or shield, the more attributes it has, and the more expensive the materials you will get from destroying it. Here they are :

<br>• Blue : Weapons and shields common, they have a single attribute. They destroy themselves into common materials.

<br>• Violet : Weapons and shields rares, they own two attributes. They break down into rare materials.

<br>• Or : Legendary weapons and shields, they have two or three attributes. Don't destroy them and don't sell them either!

Until you near the end of the game and have all your gear upgraded, destroy unwanted weapons and shields rather than sell them. You don't really need any money other than to upgrade your weapons, but crafting materials are harder to get. You'll be glad you have it afloat when you need it.

Don't think twice before destroying or selling commons or rare, but never sell or destroy your legendary weapons or shields before the end of the game. These are very hard to find and you can upgrade them once you reach the end of the game. Keep them for now and see the section dedicated to upgrades later in this article.

The best sources for legendary weapons and shields in Assassin's Creed Origins are the puzzle papyrus, followed by side quests, then treasure chests, tombs and bandit camps.

Quality and attributes: how to know which weapon is better

With so much loot, it can be difficult to know which weapon you should use.

Each weapon has a DPS, but since each category of weapon is used differently, the quality is a better indicator of which one is better.

As for melee weapons, if you are comfortable with any category (see below), you can simply equip the highest quality melee weapon, or the best weapon in your favorite category.

For ranged weapons, it's best to have two bows – one for stealth sniping, and one for more difficult combat. More information on that below.

If you have two weapons of the same quality, look at their rarity. As said above, the rarer a weapon, the more attributes it has, and that can make a big difference.

Our favorite attributes are Critical Damage, Adrenaline, Bleed, and Poison. Looking at the attributes a weapon has will help you determine which of two weapons of equal rarity and quality is better.

Once again: never destroy a legendary weapon or a legendary shield. You're going to want all three attributes when the going gets tough late game!

Improved weapons and shields

If you have a legendary weapon that you like to use but it's lower quality than any blue one you're carrying, you can upgrade it!

It's very simple to upgrade your weapons and shields: go to a blacksmith in any town and select "upgrade" from the vendor menu. You don't need any crafting materials, just a bundle of drachmae (silver).

The higher you want to level up your weapon, the more expensive the upgrade will be. It also gets very expensive at higher levels, so we suggest saving your money so you can fully upgrade your favorite weapons when needed, rather than every few levels. Until you're fighting hard-to-kill enemies, any weapon will do.

A good strategy is to upgrade a legendary weapon or just two before going after a bounty hunter, as bounty hunters are some of the toughest opponents in the game to kill – even when your character is leveled up properly.

Improvement of other equipment

Do you remember how we suggested you destroy your unwanted blue and purple weapons? Here's why: the crafting materials you get can be used to improve other equipment. Your armor, buff, quiver, hidden blade, or belt can be upgraded to different tiers, all the way up to a legendary rank.

If you're a stealth player, the most important upgrade is the hidden blade. At legendary level, the hidden blade does much more damage in stealth attacks against more resistant enemies, even those with a higher level than yours.

Our favorite upgrade after that is the quiver. Unless you're not using a bow at all (why!?), playing stealth or playing barbarian, having more arrows ready is of unparalleled utility.

Once you've upgraded those two, choose from the rest depending on your playstyle. Upgrading your armor increases your hit points, while a better boost increases your damage. The tool upgrade increases your inventory, but you don't need to bother with that if you haven't unlocked the skills on the belt, like Sleep Stinger, Poison Stinger, and Flaming Bomb.

How to get crafting materials like carbon crystals or silica for upgrades

You are going to need a lot of common, rare and even legendary materials to improve all your equipment.

We strongly recommend that you destroy your blue/purple weapons and shields until you have fully upgraded your gear, after which you can sell them. This is going to greatly help line your pockets in order to complete all of your upgrades.

After that, you have two options for collecting materials:

• Use two skill points to unlock crafting materials for purchase in shops.

• Find materials in the open world.

Senu is your best friend for this second option. Enter eagle mode and look around for material symbols. Animal materials like leather and hard leather can be found...well...on animals. Wood and materials such as bronze are carried by guarded convoys, you will have to fight to recover their resources.

In general, higher quality materials are found in higher level areas. That said, the legendary materials – the carbon crystals and silica – cannot be looted from animals or guards.

When you need them, you can find them in treasure chests, tombs, forts or bandit camps. Go to these places and use Senu to locate them.

If you have a lot of drachmae, you can also buy legendary crafting materials from the nomadic vendor, although there is a daily inventory limit.

Weapon Category: Melee

There are several types of melee weapons in Assassin's Creed Origins, and each type has its own moves and adrenaline attacks. Test them out and see which ones you like best. If you like a more barbaric style and have invested in the tree on the warrior side, you're going to want to unlock the ability to dual-wield melee weapons and switch between them at will. This allows you to have a heavy weapon to get through shields, and another more suited to crowd control.

<br>• Normal Swords and Sickle Swords

The default choice, with medium attack speed and medium damage. The two categories have different powerful attacks. Very versatile, they will be useful in any situation.

<br>• The scepters

A fairly decent weapon with medium attack distance and fast attacks, but doesn't have as much damage and won't pass shields.

<br>• The double swords

Very fast, but low attack distance; you're going to have to be good, position yourself and dodge correctly in order to avoid crowd control.

<br>• Heavy clubs and heavy blades

Both slow but very powerful, especially against enemies with a lot of defense. It is very difficult to hit more agile enemies.

<br>• Spears

The weapon with the greatest attack range. She is quite fast, but is quite low damage. Very good for keeping a mob under control and repositioning yourself but definitely not as a primary weapon.

Weapon Category: Ranged

If you like using bows, you should immediately start using your skill points to unlock the second slot. Bows come in four different types, and are more or less suitable for stealth or barbarism – you'll need one for every situation, probably.

Here's a tip: each bow category has its own arrows, so if things get hot and you empty your quiver, open your inventory and equip another bow so you can keep going. Remember to return to your bow of choice and refill your quiver when things calm down.

<br>• Predatory Bows

The ultimate stealth choice, Predatory Bows have low ammo but do massive damage. They have a more complicated aiming system and reticle to use than auto-aiming on other bows, so take your time to aim and attack from cover. If you like this style of bow, upgrade your quiver first and check the hunter part of your tree for cool abilities.

<br>• hunter's bows

A compromise between high conflict and stealth. They fire arrows quickly but do much more damage when fully retracted, which is easier to do stealthily.

<br>• warrior's bows

The pump-action shotguns of yore, warrior bows fire multiple projectiles at once. It is best to use this type of bow while being quite close to your enemy. Invest your points in upgrades that reduce projectile spread when you fully retract your bow. They honestly aren't very useful except against tough 1v1 enemies.

<br>• fast arcs

Low damage but high rate of fire, light bows are great for open combat. Equip one, aim, and spam your enemies' heads as they run towards you. That could work !

shields

Shields are very simple. Simply equip the best you have, with as many attributes as possible. Remember to use the button to block attacks. Shields won't help you against heavy attacks, so consider dodging them.
