Assassin's Creed Odyssey is made up of 3 narrative arcs with sometimes several possible outcomes. Here is the list of the different endings of the game and how to get them.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey lets you make choices that have real consequences on the development of the different characters and the evolution of Greece. It is therefore not surprising to find that the game offers several different endings, depending on the choices you have made throughout the adventure.
It goes without saying that this guide will spoil important information about the story and how it unfolds.
The game features 3 different story arcs, each with multiple outcomes. There is the bow of family, the arc of the Cult of Kosmos and the bow of the First Civilization.
The endings are determined by a multitude of minor choices that will lead to major and determining choices. If we can't list all the choices that matter, we will identify the major turning points that really tip the scales one way or the other.
Here are the choices that matter for each of these arcs:
Family Arc
The family arc is the first to end. It consists of completing the main quest and following the story of your hero in the quest for his parents and his fight against Deimos. Depending on your choices, you can attend a family meal in your old home, accompanied by the people you have found and with whom you have reconciled.
Some general tips for having the "best ending" with all your family members:
- do not kill any member of your family (obviously)
- always seek to renew the dialogue and to forgive
Here are the defining choices per chapter of the game. These are the choices that can prevent you from bringing everyone together for good:
Chapter 2: Do not kill Nikolaos in The Wolf of Sparta quest
Chapter 7: Tell Myrrine you think Deimos can be saved from the Cult in the Resume the Thread quest.
Chapter 7: Convince Nikolaos to return to Stentor in The Last Stand of Aristaios quest
Chapter 7: Do not kill Stentor in The Conqueror quest
Chapter 7: Tell Myrrine that you will save Deimos from the Cult in the Bloody Revelry quest
Chapter 8: Convince Deimos that the cult is using him in the Incarceration quest
Chapter 9: Refuse to face Deimos in the Where It All Began quest
For more details on each of these decisions, you will soon be able to consult our complete solution.
If you do well, you can unite Myrrine, Nikolaos, Deimos and Stentor in your household. Each character you save can become a powerful lieutenant in your crew. They have unique skills that are very useful in combat and boarding.
Cult of Kosmos Arc
The Cult of Kosmos is the ancestor of the Templar order. They sought to control Greece and the entire world using the powers of the heirs of the First Civilization and the Pieces of Eden. To achieve this end, you will have to find and kill the 44 masters of the cult, until you can reconstitute the Pyramid in the basements of Delphi.
It is here that you will discover that the leader of the cult is none other than Aspasia. Or so Aspasia was, until she lost her influence to Deimos and began to doubt her own plans upon meeting the hero.
You can then choose to kill Aspasia or let her go. The end will not be very different on the screen, but will have repercussions on the History of our world. If you let Aspasia go, she sought a charismatic and powerful leader to found a new order with the goal of creating her ideal society. This could apply to the Templars as well as any other group. Only time will tell what the right solution is.
First Civilization Arc
Pythagoras has given you the mission of locking down Atlantis, the last vestige of the First Civilization, by going to find the different fragments of Eden hidden in Greece. When you have eliminated the 4 mythical creatures and stopped the Cult of Kosmos, return to Theras.
While you should seal the place, Pythagoras is seduced by all the information in these fragments and will refuse to complete his mission. He will end up handing over his burden and the scepter of the Caduceus to your hero who will in turn become immortal.
Back in the present, Layla will then come face to face with your hero, preserve from death by the scepter. The hero didn't have the courage to get rid of Atlantis, in case a new war or a new order appeared. The hero recognizes Layla as his heir and passes the scepter to her in turn.
