How to earn kamas and exp easily at the same time? Treasure hunts, a simple and effective trick! We explain everything to you with this tutorial made in La Rédaction.
Treasure Hunts, what are they?
Treasure hunting is a special type of quest implemented in Dofus patch 2.19, which over time has become a full-fledged activity in the game, and an excellent way to make kamas or xp solo.
There are two types of treasure hunts: treasure hunts, and legendary treasure hunts. The Portal Hunt system is quite similar, it uses the same clue system, but unlike Treasure Hunts, Portal Hunts do not start from the Treasure Chest.
Start a hunt: the Treasure Chest
To start a treasure hunt, you need to go to the Treasure Chest, which is in [-25,-36]. You can get there on foot, however, if you have a sprained ankle, a strained left ankle, or acute mutating flemingitis, you can take the Champs de Cania zaap by [-27,-36], or use a Treasure Hunter Potion.
During your first visit to the Treasure Chest, you are welcomed by the Earth family, who offer you a little quest to get to know all of its members. This one is very simple, you just have to talk to each of the NPCs present!
Once this quest is complete, your Indiana Jones soul will finally be able to express itself! Indeed, you just have to click on the chest located next to Dhain, and choose a mission of the desired level.
Starting at level 20, and every 20 levels up to level 200, you unlock a new hunting tier. Each level increases the difficulty, but also the gains! So choose the hunt of your level. However, feel free to take a lower tier hunt if you're having trouble finishing a hunt.
That's it, you've launched your first treasure hunt! However, be prepared to walk, because to finish your hunts, you will have to walk a long way!
How a treasure hunt works: the clues
Once your hunt has started, a hunting window opens on the left of your screen. It contains information that will allow you to follow the clues in order to find your treasure.
~ Steps
A hunt has 3 to 5 stages. You must validate each of them to reach the Treasure. The last step consists of a fight against him (link to the fight against the Treasure further down in the tutorial).
~ The starting point
These coordinates are the starting point of your hunt. You have to go there to be able to follow the tracks!
The clues
These are the famous clues that you must follow. They are the main element of the treasure hunt.
It exists 2 types d’indices :
The decor elements, And Phhors. The Horrors only appear for you, and only when you are on the stage requires finding them.
(NPCs, other players, and monsters other than these Horrors cannot Administrative staff be clues)
To the left of the clue, there is an arrow, which indicates the direction in which the clue is located.
Let's take a example : Your hunt begins in [-one]. Your first clue is "stone pillarwhich is at the top of your position. So you explore the maps at the top, carefully scrutinizing each map, until you find the clue.
ATTENTION! A clue cannot be more than 10 maps from the starting position/previous clue. If you haven't found the clue after this distance, you've missed it! Retrace your steps and look for him again. If you find the clue on several maps, the first one (the one closest to the starting point/last clue found) is the correct one.
Once you think you've found the clue, click on the flag, which turns green as a result. So follow the clues to the last one.
Do you think you are on the map of the last clue on your list? Click on the magnifying glass to check your clues.
If you have found the correct clues, the orange flags will be validated, and you will move on to the next step. If you made a mistake, the hunt resumes at the last valid clue.
Note that you can check your clues if you have any doubts before reaching the end of the list of clues. However, you only have 4 tries to validate your hunt. If you fail the check 4 times in a row, your hunt will instantly end, and you won't get any winnings.
If, on the contrary, you validate the steps without making any mistakes, you will be able to take advantage of your remaining attempts to succeed in the fight against the Treasure.
The Final Battle: The Treasure
Once all the clues have been found and all the steps have been validated, a fight button will appear on your hunting window, with the position of the last clue found.
Click on it to start the fight against the Treasure. You can do this fight with your friends, however it will not win the loot from the hunt.
The Treasure does no direct damage. He has no resistance, and is unstoppable. Poison/trap damage is halved on him.
Before your turn, he casts the Treasure Hunt spell, which puts you in a non-unbewitchable state for the duration of the fight. You suffer 40% erosion, and a poison is triggered at the end of your turns.
The Treasure returns the damage it takes to you in a random element.
Each time you inflict a blow on him, your bewitchments lose 1 turn, and he removes 1 dodgeable pm from you.
At the start of the 5th turn, if the Treasure is at less than 50% life, it casts the Boost spell every 2 turns, which restores all of your HP and kills the summons. Be careful though, you must take into account your 40% erosion!
The characteristics of the Treasure depend on the level of the hunt.
Level | Vitality | PM |
---|---|---|
20 | 200 | 4 |
40 | 400 | 4 |
60 | 780 | 5 |
80 | 1200 | 6 |
100 | 1800 | 6 |
120 | 2400 | 7 |
140 | 3100 | 7 |
160 | 3800 | 7 |
180 | 4600 | 8 |
200 | 5500 | 8 |
Tips for defeating the treasure:
- Have good vitality
- Hit hard at the start of the fight in order to take advantage of Boost on turn 5, and avoid spells with low mana and damage costs, and instead favor powerful spells with lifesteal
- Provide a companion or an ally with care if you do not have effective lifesteal
ATTENTION! If you die from the damage reflected while killing the Treasure, the fight is considered lost.
Félicitations! You have just defeated your first Treasure, and thus, completed your first Hunt! To you glory and infinite wealth!
You get a certain number of chests and experience. There are different types of chests, more or less interesting, depending on the level of the mission. If you discovered clues in Bonta or Brakmar during your hunt, you will get 2 chests instead of one, and your xp will be doubled. If clues were in an aggro area, you will get no less than 4 chests, and the xp will be multiplied by 4!! And, the height of happiness, if your hunt is in a divine dimension, you will get 8 chests, and your xp will be multiplied…. by 8!!!! (but this may require having to do a portal hunt... and therefore the help of an ally, since you cannot launch two hunts at the same time)
The contents of the chests
There are different types of chests depending on the level of the hunt.
Insignificant Chest | Level 20 Hunt | Heavy Chest | Level 120 Hunt |
Rusty Chest | Level 40 Hunt | Sparkling Chest | Level 140 Hunt |
Intriguing Chest | Level 60 Hunt | Imposing Chest | Level 160 Hunt |
Surprising Chest | Level 80 Hunt | Impressive Chest | Level 180 Hunt |
Solid Chest | Level 100 Hunt | Masterful Chest | Level 200 Hunt |
They contain from 200 kamas for the Insignificant Chest to more than 3000 kamas for the Masterful Chest, as well as Roses of the Sands (up to several hundred, or even several thousand if you are really lucky).
You can also randomly obtain items from these chests. They can actually contain experience scrolls, Eniripsa Powders, Resurrection Powders, Restorative Orbs, Scale Fragments (for the quest "The Bandits of Cania"), other chests (without level restriction of hunting), etc.
Legendary Treasure Hunt Map Fragments can also be obtained at a fairly low rate.
These map fragments are numbered. When all the fragments of a map are collected, they allow you to craft a legendary treasure map!
Legendary Treasure Hunts
To craft your card, go to the Treasure Chest. Click on the desk and assemble your map with all the fragments of it! Then click on the planning table to start your legendary hunt. As you can see, this comes with a specific experience gain for the launcher of the hunt.
You are off on a longer hunt than traditional treasure hunts. However, you have more tries to accomplish it!
At the end of your Legendary Treasure Hunt, you come across the wanted poster associated with your map. The monster will be alone, but not you! You can actually be accompanied by allies.
Your gain is also greater than a classic hunt. In addition to winning the wanted poster (if you had launched the related quest), you win a chest of the monster's level, but which can contain up to 100 times its usual earnings! You will also leave with a rare resource linked to the wanted poster, allowing you to craft the set of the monster you killed.
There you are, you are ready, all you have to do is get started!
