That's it, GTA 5 is finally available on PC! And as we told you during our preview, the graphics have been even more sublimated compared to the PS4 and Xbox One versions. Tested this time no longer in 4K, but in 1080p with all options at full speed, GTA 5 has never been so majestic and we are having a great time. The lighting effects are to die for, which makes you spend quite a few hours of play on the coastal ring road admiring the sunsets, while the storms give rise to magnificent lightning (particularly greedy by the way, the fluidity of the game takes a hit), while the rain for its part has such a mouthful that even the showers of Project CARS - carrying praised at length of trailers - have lost quite a bit of luster. The vegetation obviously explodes with wild weeds which are going to make your hunting parties very difficult, while the sea enters a new dimension, whether in terms of its appearance or its physics. In short, even if you don't have the gear to run GTA 5 in 4K, the PC version is far superior to the next gen console versions, as long as you have recent hardware. Because when you push the game settings to the bottom, the Rockstar title still requires a lot of power in the box. To give you an idea, a GTX 660Ti in 3GB version can run the game almost at maximum in 1080p at 60fps. This is indeed a version fully optimized for PC, and not a port made in a hurry, as was the case with GTA 4 on PC. However, we can issue a small flat since the iFruit application, which is the companion-app of the game and which is used to train Chop, is not yet compatible on PC. Note that once activated on Steam, the game requires having (or creating) an account on the Rockstar Games Social Club.
SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY
In terms of content, this PC version is also well served since all the DLCs are available as standard, like the dirigible balloon which was at the time a pre-order bonus on consoles. The fleet of vehicles is huge, with of course cockpit views with functional instruments for keyboard-mouse fans. Besides on this subject, GTA 5 is very well stocked in settings since you can play as you want, keyboard or controller, with or without aids (auto aim). Amateur videographers can also take advantage of the two recording modes and the Rockstar Editor to make very advanced films. A system that is reminiscent of Valve Software's Source FIlmmaker, which has existed for many years, and which has even led to the creation of a competition for the best productions: the famous Saxxy Wards. When you think about the creative potential offered by the open world of Los Santos, it was natural for the Scottish developer to take advantage of it with its own creative tool. We also find all the new weapons, directly in the single player campaign, with for example the G36, the .50 pistol or the bayonet and the axe. In short, you will have understood it, the PC version of GTA 5 has not usurped its reputation as a superior version as the rendering is simply incredible. Beyond even more advanced graphics, the title has even allowed itself to rework certain areas of the game for even more detail and realism. If you have good PC gear at home and want to play GTA 5 in the best conditions, don't miss this version.
