In Soulstice you mainly control the Briar character during your fights, but his sister, Lute is just as important in combat! This character, who takes on the appearance of a specter, is there in support and can deflect projectiles, erect a barrier in front of Briar to protect her or reflect an enemy's blow if a perfect parry is correctly initiated. For his part, Briar chained the combos with his different weapons. She can deliver a series of rapid blows with the "ashen defender" greatsword which is the main sword used by the chimeras of order or strike much harder, but also slower with the "ashen enforcer".
The more you advance in the adventure, the more Briar unlocks new weapons while her sister has the possibility of improving her support skills at the cost of blue crystals called “residues”. It is important to take into account the strengths and weaknesses of the two sisters in battle, because each action has the effect of increasing their "unity". A high unit allows Briar & Lute to more effectively fight off the various spectral monsters and entities they encounter along the way while exploring Ilden. If the unit reaches a high enough level during a confrontation, it then becomes possible to initiate a powerful action called “synergic attack”.
Unfortunately, the unit can also decay if Briar takes too many hits or her sister Lute goes into overload mode due to too high Entropy. How do you trigger synergistic attacks with Briar and Lute in Soulstice:
The first thing to do is to go to the "skills" tab of Lute. You can do this from Layton's shop or before starting a new chapter. In the "attacks" section of his skill tree, you'll need to make sure you've unlocked the "synergistic" skills for Briar's weapons. Next, be sure to unlock Briar's weapon combos. These are the ferocious assault for the ashen defender, the thunderous advance for the "ashen executioner" or the irresistible force combo for the "hand of punishment".
Synergistic attacks all have a particularity, the combo to initiate them requires pausing. It is often enough to press the attack button twice, pause (the weapon will start to glow) then press the action button continuously to attack with the weapon in hand to complete the combo. If the unity between Briar and Lute has reached its maximum, then you will unleash a powerful synergistic attack.
★ Tip – As you progress through the adventure, you will be able to purchase Cobalt Rift Crystals which expand Lute's skill tree. This will eventually allow you to unlock skills that will allow you to initiate synergistic attacks with fewer unit points. This will make it easier to trigger them in combat!
