The Sims 2: Seasons Review

The Sims 2: Seasons ReviewAfter a short interlude called The Sims: Life Stories, Maxis and Electronic Arts are returning to the path of expansions dear to the saga The Sims 2. After the university campus, the drunken evenings, the small business of the world of work, here we are transported to more noble values, those of the land, of the family and all this according to the passing seasons. Because this is the big novelty of this fifth add-on and if the title could not be more explicit, it is also welcome to specify that the player is free at any time to choose his season. A small bar on which the icons of each season are represented allows you to switch between temperature and decor, of course. So don't be surprised to see snowflakes falling in the middle of winter, to have to sweep the dead leaves from your doorstep in autumn, to take a dip in your swimming pool under the summer sun or to plant your first shoots of tomatoes and other salads in the spring.

    There are more seasons

The Sims 2: Seasons ReviewWho says season necessarily says temperature change. While global warming is at the heart of all the news of our worlds, Will Wright's virtual beings have little to worry about melting glaciers since the seasons are respected here. We will also have to adapt to the climate and it is therefore preferable to dress warmly in winter and walk around in undress in the heat wave so as not to upset our Sims, who are often fragile. The addition of a small gauge next to the portrait makes it possible to check the state of the latter according to the ambient temperature. If the latter have the reflex to remove their coats in case of heat stroke or to take out the umbrella on rainy days, some forget that you quickly catch a rum in the middle of winter. Fortunately, a good cup of hot tea allows you to perk up in two-four-six and conversely, a heat stroke evaporates by a small jump in the swimming pool.

Like the life cycle introduced in the very first The Sims 2, The Sims 2: Seasons Change manages the evolution of events taking place in and around your home as well. This is especially true at the level of its small vegetable garden, one of the many possibilities offered by the title. But to achieve your goals and harvest beautiful fruits and vegetables when the time comes, you need to have a minimum of green fingers. Being a gardener requires a certain application in his tasks and he must not forget to water his plantations, to add fertilizers if necessary or to hunt pollutants such as insects and other parasites. Better, by harvesting good fruits and vegetables, it is then possible to resell them to neighbors or people passing through, the notion of trade in the Les Bonnes Affaires add-on returning at a gallop. Also beware of diseases transmitted by the excessive use of insecticides resulting in a rather amusing physical change. So many additions and novelties in this extension which fit perfectly with a disconcerting naturalness and which will oblige fans of these beings with a diamond on their heads to put their hands on their wallets, a fifth time.
