Back on Sphinx Hill with the full key in hand, you'll realize that Gorgia and his colleagues are dead, while the Sphinx statue is missing. By wanting to put the key in the mechanism, a living sphinx will appear in front of you.
To recover the artifact, you can decide to face the Sphinx or answer its puzzles.
