Destiny 2 received a new seasonal update called Season of the Splicer yesterday, bringing all-new Exotics for Guardians to hunt and farm.
Guardians from all over the Sol system can now start grinding and smashing their way through the new content. Season of the Splicer features a new Exotic weapon and three new Exotic armor pieces for Guardians to take into the fray.
More Exotics may follow soon, such as the much-teased return of the Vex Mythoclast, as spotted by the official DestinyTracker account on this Twitter post. But for now, here are the 4 new Exotics players can get their hands on.
CRYOTHESIA 77K - Stasis Energy Exotic Sidearm
Stasis handgun “CRYOTHESIA 77K” is the first stasis energy weapon added to the game. It is unlocked as part of the Season Pass at level 35, free or unlocked instantly after purchasing the Season Pass. The Exotic Pistol has two benefits.
- LN2 Burst: Gives the weapon two firing modes, pulling the trigger as usual to fire single shots and a charged shot where players can hold the fire button to instantly freeze enemies upon hitting the target. LN2 “Burst perk” is only active when the main “Liquid Cooling” perk is active.
- Liquid Cooling: The perk is activated when a player lands a killing blow with the handgun's normal fire mode. Once activated, the player can fire the charged shot using the magazine's remaining ammo.
As the second stasis weapon so far, it will be interesting to see how this CRYOTHESIA 77K fits into this season's PvP and PvE meta.
STAR-EATER SCALES - Exotic Hunter Legs
The new Hunter boots have a simple but extremely powerful perk, “Feast of Light”. Boots allow Guardians to absorb Power Orbs, making their super more powerful and healing the user upon casting. The icing on the cake, when fully overloaded with power orbs, the user will also receive an over-shield when dispensing their super.
This could turn out to be an extremely powerful piece of Hunter Exotic armor, changing the meta in both PvE and PvP.
In order for the “Star-Eater Scales” to drop, you must play as a Solo Hunter and grind Legend/Master Lost Sector, which specifies an “Exotic Leg Armor” drop that day.
THE PATH OF THE BURN STEPS – Exotic Legs
Titans can finally feel like a raging, blazing fire. The new Titan boots come with the “Firewalker” perk. The perk increases weapon damage with kills and acts as a direct counter to Stasis skills, reducing Stasis slowing effects. The boots additionally counter stasis abilities, allowing Titans to come out of stasis without taking damage and creating a solar blast around them.
These boots seem to be directly focused on balancing the playing field for Titans and their teammates, versus the stasis abilities currently mastered in PvP. Boots are sure to make an explosive debut in PvP.
In order for "The Path of Burning Steps" to drop, you must play as a solo Titan and grind Legend/Master Lost Sector, which specify an "Exotic Leg Armor" drop that day.
ASSEMBLY BOOTS - Exotic Warlock Legs
The Warlock Boots, just like the other two leg pieces, come with a very powerful meta-defining perk. The “Blessing of Order” perk manifests as Noble-seeking projectiles that hunt teammates by healing them on contact. This perk also improves the user's weapon damage and Warlock's Rift duration while standing, for each Noble Seeker tagging a teammate.
These boots can be a first choice for Warlocks when entering the completely reworked Vault of Glass raid.
To drop "Assembler's Boots", you must play as a solo Warlock and grind Legend/Master Lost Sector, which specifies an "Exotic Leg Armor" drop that day.
Destiny 2 Youtuber Marshix, has posted a very quick and informative guide on how to farm all of these new Exotic Leg Pieces.
