Destiny 2The new Destiny 2 season is in full swing and we're here to let you know our personal take on the best Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 PvE, updated for Season 14: Season of the Splicer.
Destiny 2 is known by its community for releasing unbalanced weapons in the past, creating a tricky meta in PvE and PvP. Many raid teams won't let Guardians join them in a raid without certain Exotic weapons. To help Guardians figure out which weapons to collect before trying out new content, whether it's the higher difficulty Nightfalls or the highly anticipated return of the Vault of Glass raid, here are the best Destiny 2 Exotic weapons for PvE in season 14.
#10 Rocket Launcher – Eyes of Tomorrow
- Eyes on all – This weapon is capable of tracking and firing at multiple targets simultaneously.
The Eyes of Tomorrow Rocket Launcher is the latest Raid Exotic weapon.
The Rocket Launcher is by far one of the most fun weapons introduced in Destiny 2. Locking onto multiple targets, dealing maximum damage over a wide area is as satisfying as it is effective.
Submachine Gun #9 - Riskrunner
- Arc conductor: When taking arc damage, this weapon becomes more powerful and resists incoming arc damage. Kills extend the time in this overloaded state.
Riskrunner has been around for a long time in Destiny 2, it's always been at the forefront of handling large amounts of ads. When used in certain missions where enemies deal arc damage, this weapon can clear rooms in seconds.
Hand Cannon #8 - Erianas Vow
- Appearances can kill: This weapon fires special ammo to puncture the shield. It comes with a bezel. Strong Against Barrier Champions
Eriana's Vow is a must to deal with Barrier Champions if you don't want to get close to The Lament. Eriana's Vow hits like a truck with a sniper's reach, this Season of the Eternals seasonal weapon will likely not lose strength in future seasons.
Linear Fusion Rifle #7 – Simulant Sleeper
- Sleeping Beauty: The weapon's laser excessively penetrates enemies and refracts on hard surfaces.
The much-loved Sleeper Simulant took a backseat to newly introduced Exotics such as the Xenophage. Still, the Sleeper Simulant can melt bosses and is extremely satisfying to shoot. Want to remove a row of announcements in a hallway? pull one shot and it will be as if the ads were never there in the first place.
Lance-grenades # 6 – Witherhoard
- Primeval's Torment: Projectiles fired by this weapon destroy the target or nearby area upon impact.
The Witherhoard is the pinnacle of defensive Exotic weapons, it leaves a pit of Blight where it lands, damaging enemies that cross it. Pull this baby to a choke point as he fights back, only to see the ads drop as if he's stubbed his toe and died.
Arc de combat # 5 – Trinity Ghoul
- split electron: Fires an arrow that splits when released. Aiming down sights and fully firing the bow reduces spread.
The Trinity Ghoul melts shielded enemies and can also hit multiple enemies with each shot. Being a bow, it's a little harder to use than most weapons. Yet over time, the Trinity Ghoul can become one of the most devastating weapons in a Guardian's arsenal, especially with its Catalyst.
#4 Trace Rifle – Divinity
- Judgment – Sustained damage with this weapon envelops the target in a field that weakens and disrupts them. Strong against overload champions
One of the most useful weapons in a raid. It can double the combined damage of a well-coordinated fireteam, making many three-phase bosses more like single-phase bosses.
Machine Gun #3 – Xenophage
- Pyrotoxin Rounds – Fires high-powered explosive ammo.
The Xenophage is quite difficult to acquire after a very long questline, even by Destiny 2 standards. It's one hundred percent worth it.
Need to melt down a boss? he can do it.
Need to quickly clear ads from a room? he can do it.
Need it to eradicate mini-bosses in seconds? he can do it.
Truly one of the best guns in the game for PvE content and every Guardian should have it in their arsenal.
#2 Grenade Launcher - Anarchy
- Arc traps: Grenades stick to surfaces and chain arc bolts to other mines.
While not effective in many situations outside of bosses, it is extremely effective at dealing insane damage to them. Possessing Anarchy virtually guarantees you a spot on any raid team.
Sword #1 - The Lament
Banshee's moan – Hold [Block] to rotate the blade.
- Increases damage, bypasses shield, and adds [Shield-Piercing] shield piercing to all attacks.
- Gain stacks when dealing damage with fast attacks.
- Additional charges increase the damage and damage resistance of heavy attacks.
Finally, we wrap up with The Lament, the pinnacle of Destiny 2's best Exotic weapons for PvE. What more can I say about this weapon, it does absolutely ridiculous damage, it easily deals with pesky barrier champions and best of all, it's a chainsaw sword. What more could you want from the best weapon in the game.
