Shadowlands Update 9.1 adds a new area, Corthia, although it could best be described as a new area within the Maw. Nonetheless, it brings with it two new factions to gain a reputation for, catch up on, and a slew of secrets. Oh, and its inclusion makes the Maw a fitting late-game zone, as much of it has been revamped alongside the addition of Korthia. If you want to venture into this new region, you'll need to clear a few story objectives first.
Korthia is unlocked during the "Maw Walkers" campaign chapter in Shadowlands.
Korthia, the City of Secrets, is unlocked by completing the "Maw Walkers" chapter of the new Chains of Domination campaign in patch 9.1. This follows on from the first chapter, "The Battle of Ardenweald", which is a single storyline that shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes. Upon returning to Oribos, you will be sent into the Maw and work with Ve'nari to gain access to Korthia.
To access the new Chains of Domination campaign in Update 9.1, all you need to do is complete the Torghast chapter of the original Shadowlands 9.0 Covenant campaign, up to "The Search for Baine". Once this has been eliminated, you will automatically receive the 9.1 intro quest "The First Movement". As for your alts, they can skip the Torghast chapter from patch 9.1 (to include all of Bolvar's Torghast missions), so if your main knocked it out, don't worry about clearing it.
Simply follow the Chains of Domination campaign chapter "Maw Walkers" until the moment you and Ve'nari establish communication with a friendly faction within Korthia. From then on, you'll (mostly) have full access to the new Shadowlands area and can start exploring Korthia however you see fit.
Now, that said, you'll want to push the campaign further and clear the next quests, "Who's the Maw Walker." This will unlock the ability to use mounts in the Maw and lead to a quick way to get in and out of the area, so do this before you go crazy exploring the City of Secrets.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Patch 9.1, Chains of Domination will launch on June 29 (NA) and June 30 (EU).
