World of Warcraft: Shadowlands introduced Chromie Time (officially called Timewalker campaigns) in the MMO, and players want to know expansion and the fastest for leveling. The answer might not surprise you, but overall leveling an alt will take less than a day of game time no matter which expansion you choose. But, who has time for that?
Warlords of Draenor is the fastest expansion to level with Chromie Time.
I looked at the numbers reported on the internet by YouTube and the community, and even tested most extensions for myself. At the end of the day, one expansion jumped ahead of the pack for leveling, and that was Warlords of Draenor. Warlords was an amazing leveling experience when it launched in 2014 (unfortunately can't say the same for endgame), so it's no surprise that this is the best expansion for leveling with Chromie Time activated.
Other expansions have come close, but on average players have gone from level 10 to level 50 in around 12 hours in Warlords of Draenor. It took me a little over 13 hours, but I also forgot to log out several times to deal with real-life issues. This means you can easily reach Shadowlands on an alt in a single day if you can sit at your computer for half of it. Keep in mind these numbers weren't from speed levelers: I saw one of them knocked out Warlords in just over 5 hours, so you can definitely level a few alts in a day if you know what you are doing.
That said, the average leveling times reported for 10-50 in each expansion are:
- Warlords of Draenor: 12 hours
- Legion: 14 p.m.
- Battle for Azeroth: 16 p.m.
- Mists of Pandaria: 16 p.m.
- Cataclysm: 20 hours
- Wrath of the Lich King: 24 hours
- The Burning Crusade: 24 Hours
